Following our recent launch of BTV Impact, Btomorrow Ventures (BTV) is pleased to announce our investment in one.five GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.
one.five is a packaging technology platform focused on developing and launching sustainable packaging solutions to replace single-use plastics in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Its innovative solutions are designed to integrate into a company’s existing supply chains, manufacturing processes, and waste management infrastructure.
The solution aims to help companies achieve their sustainability goals without compromising on performance or cost-effectiveness. This approach can make it easier for brands across industries to reduce waste and increase packaging efficiency, supporting the transition towards a circular and climate neutral / Net Zero economy.
Co-founded in 2020 by Martin Weber and Claire Hae-Min Gusko, one.five is built on their expertise from previous experience in the clean-tech startup space.
Alongside BTV’s investment, BAT and one.five will explore opportunities to leverage one.five’s AI learning tool to inform and support BAT’s packaging decisions, giving BAT the opportunity to consider more innovative packaging options, furthering its commitment to A Better Tomorrow™.
BAT’s Principal Packaging Discovery Manager, Rob Press says:
“This partnership with one.five will fast track the development of new technologies and commercialisation of sustainable packaging solutions, accelerating progress towards our sustainability and commercial goals.”
Speaking today, BTV’s Investment Director, Lukasz Garbowski, says:
“Having journeyed through our Impact Lab programme over the past year, one-five is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio in the sustainable packaging space and we are excited to see our relationship continue to blossom over the coming years.”
one.five’s Co-founder, Martin Weber, says:
“We’re excited by an opportunity that can significantly move the needle in terms of environmental impact. Packaging volumes in the tobacco and modern oral market are huge - solving the problem here can ease the transition for adjacent markets with similar issues. We look forward to working with BAT and BTV to help lead the market into a more sustainable, circular, and cleaner tomorrow.”
