Btomorrow Ventures is pleased to announce the appointment of Annie Goman as our new Managing Director. Annie joins BTV having previously held the role of BAT’s Global Head of Cannabis.

Annie takes over the MD position from Juan M. Palacios, who has moved to a new role within BAT and returned with his family to the U.S. Juan’s new position as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Reynolds American, BAT’s U.S. subsidiary, will see him continue to partner with BTV as part of the BTV Investment Committee, while working to find collaborations between our portfolio and our corporate’s U.S. operations.

Annie joined BAT in 2023, having previously held leadership roles within Commercial, Digital and eCommerce at ZX Ventures (the growth incubator arm of AB InBev), Innocent Drinks and Nestle.

“I’m very excited to be taking on the role of MD at BTV and to have the opportunity to work alongside our talented, dynamic teams, both here at BTV and BAT, as well as within our portfolio companies,”

says Annie.

“I believe our approach to venturing and leveraging the capabilities of our minority investments plays a critical role in enabling BAT’s wider transformation, in helping to build A Smokeless World. I look forward to continuing to strengthen these relationships as we deploy BTV’s Fund II.”

As announced in December, BTV launched its second fund, a further £200m commitment enabling BTV to continue furthering its global minority investment strategy. Fund II’s remit primarily focusses on consumer products within the wellbeing and stimulation space*, in its commitment to drive BAT’s A Smokeless World agenda.

Juan M. Palacios says:

“Having worked with Annie over the past few years, I know how dedicated, hard-working and inspiring she is. I’m certain she will have a positive impact in strengthening the ties we have developed with our BAT partners, portfolio companies and wider industry partners.”

After graduating from Durham University, Annie built up a wealth of experience in the consumer goods space. At AB InBev, she successfully grew the eCommerce and DTC business from scratch at a country, European and global level. This involved partnering with the start-ups that were acquired by ZX Ventures and ensuring their seamless transition into ABI, making sure that the entrepreneurial and innovation mindsets were retained and embraced post-acquisition.

Outside of work, Annie has a passion for watching and playing sport, as well as enjoying the London parks with her husband and her dog, Gini.

*Consumers are increasingly seeking healthier lifestyles and ‘better-for-you’ products that help them manage their daily wellbeing. We call this category Wellbeing and Stimulation (W&S). It should be noted that Wellbeing and Stimulation within BAT does not include cannabis.
